Admiral Abiodun Taiwo Odedina (CFR) – Chairman, Board of Directors

Admiral Abiodun Taiwo Odedina (CFR) is a distinguished naval officer, seasoned administrator, and astute businessman, bringing decades of leadership experience in both military and corporate governance.

He began his illustrious career in 1969, when he joined the Nigerian Navy as a Cadet. His training took him across the globe, including England, India, and the United States, where he honed his expertise in naval operations and leadership. Throughout his service, Admiral Odedina commanded several sea-going ships and made history as the Commissioning Commanding Officer of the First Naval Air Station in Black Africa.

His career saw him hold several key positions, including:

• Nigerian Naval Attaché to the United States (1988 – 1990)

• Flag Officer, Naval Training Command, Apapa, Lagos

• Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Calabar, overseeing naval operations across the Eastern and South-South regions of Nigeria

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Nigerian Navy, the Federal Government of Nigeria honored him with the prestigious Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) in 1999, making him one of the nation’s most respected military figures.

He also served as a Member of the Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council from 1996 to 1999 and later as the Chief of Administration, Defence Headquarters from May 1999 to August 2001, before voluntarily retiring from military service in August 2001.

Following his retirement, Admiral Odedina transitioned into the private sector, leveraging his vast experience in strategic operations and governance. He ventured into multiple industries, including Maritime Security, Microfinance Banking, Information Technology, and Investments. His entrepreneurial achievements include:

• Founder, Odesys Technologies

• Chairman, Blueridge Microfinance Bank

• Co-founder, Blacksand-Mosegs Maritime Security Company Ltd, in partnership with Blacksand Security, USA

Admiral Odedina joined Cashville Investments & Securities Ltd in 1997 as a Non-Executive Director and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, where he provides strategic oversight and guidance in driving the company’s growth and success.

He is happily married and blessed with four children.
